Resources for RV Owners

I was lucky enough to have some RV experts help set me up, but if you're new to this, here are a few required items and a few items that have just been really nice to have.

A few requirements before hitting the road

Surge Protector: This will protect your camper's electrical system

Sewer Hose: Whether you're at a full hookup site or using a dump station, you'll need this

Tire Leveling Blocks: To feel stable anywhere you park

Landing Leg Blocks: For your front leveling legs to stand on (can be subbed for 2X4s)

Wheel Chocks: So your camper doesn't roll while you're parked

Heat Tape: Only required if you'll be camping in the cold, it will keep your water pipe/spigot from freezing

The stuff that's just nice to have

Keyless Entry: This lock comes with a remote and physical keys- one of my favorite investments

RV Leveler: Although a physical level will do, this keeps me from walking back and forth to check

Sewer Hose Support: Definitely not a need, but if you're somewhere with full hookups for a while a convenience when emptying tanks

Shower Organizer: Keeps everything in place on move days

Telescoping Ladder: Although most RVs/campers have a ladder attached to them, they are not super sturdy or reliable. Having a backup is helpful, plus this one is easy to store!

EternaBond Tape: If you're planning on doing your own repairs, this is a requirement (I've also used this on the underbelly of the camper when I had to cut the cardboard open.

The Kitchen Stuff

When I was moving from a home to a camper, I was concerned about all my porcelain dishes breaking every time I moved so I did some investing in camper equipment that could withstand regular micrwave use, travel safely, and be a staple for my camper.

Wheat Straw Dinnerware Set: I didn't want plastic plates because I'd be microwaving these A LOT and I didn't want to worry about any toxins.

Knives: I have knives in a wooden block, but it was heavy and would take up precious counter space, these fit in my drawers.

Spice Organizer: Storage in a camper is minimal, but access to daily spices makes life a little easier. I used the adhesive tape to install these, and they have not budged.

Paper Towel Holder: Save the counter space, this is super sticky and hasn't budged during any of my moves.
